Classes held at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts, Brookfield, WI


Mondays, June 6-20,  6:00 – 8:00pm (3 Sessions)

Learn how to accentuate vibrant colors, interesting contrasts, and expressive palettes in pastel. This class is all about technique and how to create a strong piece of art. Focusing on the impressionistic tradition, we will discuss optical mixing, quick work habits, and color sensitivity. Beginners are welcome!



Thursdays, July 12-August 2, 6:00 – 8:00pm (4 Sessions)

Abstraction is a fun and unique way to work with watercolor. We will briefly cover the basics of watercolor and then delve into experimental techniques that respond to the patterns, colors, and textures. Composition will be discussed along with ways to express oneself through the flow of water. Beginners are welcome!

The Art of Landscape in Pastel

Held at The Clearing, Ellison Bay July 28 & 29, 9am – 4pm

Learn pastel drawing while focusing on landscape as subject matter. Beki will cover materials, tools, and techniques to layer and blend pastels to achieve gradation, depth, and atmosphere. Color discussions and demos will teach you how to layer color for desired results. We will start with a few exercises to develop concepts and then we will move on to completed drawings. This class is open to all levels of experience. A supply list will be sent and is available online at www.theclearing.org.

Tuition: $195 (lunch included each day) Register online starting May 3rd.
