Using traditional watercolor techniques students will learn how to plan and execute a painting using a photograph as reference. In this class we will look at many examples of how photographs translate to paint. Through demonstration, students will be shown techniques such as wet on wet, layering, and more. This class will provide opportunities to transform any image into a work of art. All supplies will be provided.

Beki will review the basics of acrylic painting before moving into
more experimental techniques. Students will work to create their own
abstract landscape paintings with individualized feedback from the
instructor and group. Open to all levels of experience. More advanced
painters will have the opportunity to push the boundaries of their
painting practice, while beginners will develop skill.

In this stimulating class you will work from photos exploring abstraction through the subject of landscape. Starting with the basics of acrylics, mark making, glazing, and experimental methods learning to paint expressively. You will also learn the basics of abstraction including composition and evaluation.

Saturday, October 19th, 9am-2pm

study the elements of a landscape and how acrylic painting technique
can be used to recreate a scene. We will be focusing on how to
achieve things in a landscape like depth, atmosphere, and feeling.
We will discuss techniques and compositions that help create a
successful landscape. Students will then work from their own images
